Getting awarded.

Hi everyone !

The darling Christine from the lovely blog ‘Tea, books and tweed’ (what a perfect name!) nominated me for the Liebster awards. How sweet of her!

I’m always so glad when someone tells me he likes my work! It is always a bliss.

So here are some facts about me (that you may not know) :

1. Despite the fact I’m a complete tea addict, I like to start the day with a strong black coffee.

2. I absolutely love biking while listening piano. I don’t know why but I just love it.

3. I was at first a dog person, but as I used to live in a flat with no garden, I wanted a animal to have company and take care of, so I took a cat and I just completely fell in love with cats!

4. To me everything is about sugar. It is one of my dream to go to the restaurant and order just desserts for my lunch or diner! I never spend a day without eating sweet treats.

5. I love baking sweets but as my man is a salt treats type of person, when I cook cakes I usually have to eat the whole thing by myself… So I do not bake a lot as I would be reaaaaally chubby by now.

6. I adooore goat’s cheese.

7. I have a passion for dresses! Specially ones with plaid pattern or polka dots.

8. My favorite color is burgundy and all the autumn colors matching with it (teal, mustard yellow, 70’s orange, forest green…)

9. I always had complexes about my body and my image, I’m quite happy with it, but never satisfied when I look in the mirror. But well, I’ll deal with it!

10. I hope to live in England or Scotland in my future. It is a country where I feel good living in it (I lived in Birmingham for a year and I loved it!) So it really becomes something I wish to accomplish.

11. My dreaming job is to live with my drawings and illustrations and open a tea shop where we could taste all the best teas and eat the best pastries and cakes!

What inspired you to start a blog?
I draw since I’m a little child and I thought sharing my work on the internet would help me to be noticed and show people around me my little illustrated world.

Who is your favourite style icon?
Tough question. I’ll say… Florence Welsh. She knows how to wear weird and beautiful dresses and her style definitely screams she’s quirky and I love it!

Can you name two of your favourite bloggers and explain why they are your favourites?
Well, I follow quite a lot, but I’ll say Rebecca from the Clothes Horse, she inspired me to draw beautiful ladies (like her) and improve my personal style. Staying quirky but true to myself and cute! The second is Olivia from What Olivia Did, she’s the perfect british girl (I’d love to share a cuppa with her talking about dress, accessories and colors) and have developed a certain 70’s style that I love and just fit her so well!

What's one wardrobe essential you can't live without?
Little black dress. It is elegant, feminine, goes with everything and has never disappointed me.

How would you describe your blogging style?
Well as an illustrator, I would say my work is feminine and funny!

What is your greatest achievement outside of blogging?
Well I’m proud of what I accomplished as a young illustrator, working for people as Netflix or having my own suitcase collection is something I’ve always dreamed of!

What was the last book you read?
it is ’Syndrome E' from Franck Thilliez. I love how scary and dark but still warm and human his stories are. I try to read all of his books!

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go?
I’ll go back to Edinburgh, I just fell in love with this magical place. And I also wanna visit Sweden (to see my dear Mona from Curls and Cakes) and Norway!

Where do you see yourself in five years?
In a bigger house with a garden (so I could finally have a dog!), maybe planning my wedding and choosing dresses while eating a lot of cakes! Reading, drawing and painting all day long, cooking meals for my man and just enjoying the days.

What was the first movie or book that made an impact on your life?
Wow hard choice. I’ll say the book 'The Girl with the Pearl Earring' from Tracy Chevalier. It is a story she made out from Vermeer paintings. And it is so good, it made me feel like I really was a ‘picture creator’ (I do not like to call myself an ‘artist’, I find it too haughty and snobbish) and I learned how to feel love and really look at things.

What advice would you give someone who just started blogging?
Always find inspiration everywhere (in the street, at work, reading magazines, watching tv…) Never stop dreaming and accomplish little things every day.

Here are my 11 nominees:

Rebecca from The Clothes Horse
Oliva Purvis from What Olivia Did
Carrie from Wish Wish Wish
Steffy from Steffysprosandcons
Ashley from Southern California Belle
Amanda from
Junebugs and Georgia Peaches
from Junebugs and Georgia Peaches
Emma from Emma's looking glass
Rachel from Jaglever
Antoinette from Bonbonsgirls
Swann for The Swann and the Berries
